Illustrator Example #2

These ads designed for Coke were clearly created using Illustrator. The shapes are clean, precise, and smooth. They remind me of sketches, but the pen tool was obviously used for many of the shapes.

This campaign was created to tell the story of the importance and investment of the Coca-Cola company in the development of Russia. These are snapshots from a series of animation.

I really admire the way they used Illustrator in this, because some parts of the illustration are fully filled in and colored, while some objects are simply “outlines”. You can really see this type of design in the box that is mostly green. The Coke bottle is simply an outline against the overall design, but it fits perfectly and the composition is well thought out.

The most prominent design element used is color and the secondary is shape. The bright, simple colors used in this design give off a feeling of happiness and joy. The contrast the red in the Coke plays off of every other color is recognizable and interesting. The simple and rounded shapes used to create the people and scenery are friendly and captivating.
