Illustrator Example #3

For my third example, I chose the Bitmoji logo. It is something so simple, yet effective. Bitmoji is an app that will create a customized emoji for you to express different emotions using your own “face”. It is better than doing a simple iPhone emoji. I have a feeling most of the designs created within the app are also created in illustrator, because everything has a “cartoon” look.

The logo was created using simple shapes, like the rounded rectangle tool. The easygoing curves in the face were definitely created with the pen tool. The ‘J’ in Bitmoji was created over the underline using an offset path (and creating the text to outlines first).

The elements used in this design are shape and line. The leaving kines of the bottom part of the app are geared upward and to the right, while the colors display happiness. The simplicity of the shapes used on the “face” speech bubble guarantee that the app will be easy to use.
